One of Central Florida’s fastest-growing cities
Groveland roughly doubled in a decade — from about ten thousand residents to more than twenty thousand — and the party calendar grew with it. The City with Natural Charm is also Florida’s first International Dark Sky Community, which makes an evening event under a tent here feel different: when the string lights come on, the sky behind them is actually dark. We’re about twenty-eight road miles southwest of Groveland’s downtown, so delivery lands around $110, exact figure at checkout before you pay.
Lake David and the city venues
Lake David Park anchors downtown — splash pad, walking paths, docks on the water — with the historic 1930s Lake David Center rentable for smaller indoor events. Cherry Lake Park spreads forty acres with a pavilion and event lawn, Downtown Festival Park holds the gazebo where the city’s festivals set up, and John Wesley Griffin Park covers the neighborhood-party tier with pavilion and grills.
Groveland’s permit rule — worth knowing early
Pavilions and the gazebo reserve free through the city’s online system, but here’s the catch that surprises people: any organized special event — festival, large gathering, commercial promotion — needs a City of Groveland Special Event Permit under Ordinance 2020-08, filed at least thirty days ahead, with a twelve-hour event limit and a $100 cleanup deposit (Parks & Rec: 352-429-2141 x222). If your party is big enough to need that permit, work backward from the thirty-day deadline and book us once your date clears. Standard tent rules ride alongside: up to 900 square feet exempt statewide; bigger takes a Lake County permit and fire review we prepare.
What Groveland books
Trilogy’s 55+ social calendar leans on rounds, padded resin chairs, and linens for clubhouse-adjacent gatherings. Waterside Pointe and Eagle Pointe backyards book the 20×20 and 20×40 high peaks. Tent setup and teardown are always included; table-and-chair placement is the paid add-on; dance floor installation is included.
